Job Description

The Oilserv 2026 Ingenious Graduate Trainee Program is a full-time, two-year structured development initiative based in Port Harcourt – Rivers. Designed for recent graduates who have completed NYSC and have 0–2 years of work experience, this program prepares high-potential individuals for future leadership roles within the Oilserv Group.

Job Summary

The program combines a 6-month rotational phase across multiple subsidiaries with an 18-month specialised development track in a selected career field. Participants receive professional certification support, structured skills development, mentorship, and hands-on project exposure. This is a career-launching opportunity within the oil and gas sector for graduates seeking long-term growth and leadership progression.

Program Structure & Career Development

What makes the Oilserv 2026 Ingenious Graduate Trainee Program distinctive is its structured and progressive format. The first six months are dedicated to rotational assignments across all subsidiaries. This cross-functional exposure allows trainees to develop a comprehensive understanding of business operations, processes, and strategic objectives within the Oilserv Group.

Following the rotation phase, trainees transition into an 18-month specialised development path aligned with their chosen field or career direction. This focused stage enables deeper technical and professional competence while building long-term expertise. Throughout the two-year journey, trainees are supported through mentorship, guided supervision from assigned line managers or Human Resources Business Partners, and structured development opportunities designed to cultivate high performance.

The program is intentionally designed to bridge academic learning with practical industry application, providing direct project involvement and immersive professional experience within the oil and gas sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in structured rotational assignments across all subsidiaries during the first six months.
  • Engage in an 18-month specialised development program within a chosen field or career path.
  • Contribute to assigned projects and business initiatives as part of hands-on industry exposure.
  • Work under the guidance of an assigned Line Manager or Human Resources Business Partner.
  • Demonstrate readiness to travel and work in different locations as required.
  • Actively pursue professional certification and continuous skills development opportunities supported by the program.

These responsibilities are structured to ensure participants gain both breadth and depth of experience—broad exposure during rotations and focused mastery during specialisation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

To be eligible for the Ingenious Graduate Trainee Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Completion of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
  • 0–2 years of work experience.
  • Not older than 28 years.
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second Class Upper (2.1) in Engineering, Law, Information Management, Accounting, ESG, or Social Sciences.
  • Knowledge of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) is an added advantage.

The program is designed specifically for early-career professionals at the start of their professional journey. A strong academic background (minimum 2.1) reflects the high-performance expectations of the program, while ESG knowledge is considered beneficial given its growing relevance in corporate and industry environments.

Experience & Professional Profile

This opportunity is tailored for recent graduates with limited professional experience (0–2 years). The program seeks individuals who demonstrate academic excellence, readiness to learn, and adaptability across different business units.

Because the program includes rotations across subsidiaries and the possibility of working in different locations, candidates must be willing to travel as required. The ability to adjust to varied environments and business contexts is essential for success in this structured development pathway.

Employment Type: Full-time

Program Duration: 2 years (6-month rotation + 18-month specialised development)
